In 2006 there was a great sense of urgency to get the message out to as many places as we could. Thinking of how God parted the waters for Joshua after the priests stepped into the Jordan river, I believed that as we stepped into the waters in obedience to God’s call to leave our rental house and travel full time, that He would provide a motor home for us to travel in as a family. He did, but not until three years later. The call to “go” was there and I trusted God would take care of us even without a motor home . Our home church, Mill Creek, in Stoney Fork, KY supplied us with a utility trailer and off we went.
That summer as we tried to climb the Rocky Mountains to get to Gypsum, CO., our suburban overheated and could not make it, but God supplied us with a 15 passenger van. The first words the people of FBC Gypsum said to me as I walked in the door was, “we have been praying for you”. I had so many challenges that first trip west, I really did wonder if I was going to make it, but God had people in place praying and He was supplying.
Everywhere Choose Life Ministries would go I trusted God would provide our needs for a place to stay as well as all our other travel expenses. But those first years in the ministry were like a trial of my faith and oftentimes we tent camped.

Then miraculously in 2009 a lady we never met, sent Choose Life Ministries a check that enabled us to buy a used motor home. To God be the glory!

This is our “home” today and we hope to down size even more so that we can continually put as much finances as we can back into ministry and keep our expenses low.

Many times I am asked, “how do you know where God is leading?” Prayer, prayer, prayer and perseverance. I (Doug) was pursuing dates in Texas in 2006 and almost gave up after making about 300 calls when a pastor in Lubbock answered the phone and said he was just praying and asking God about a ministry just like Choose Life Ministries to come and share there. It can be discouraging at times when only one out of every 175 churches or so that I contact will let Choose Life Ministries come and share a biblical world view of life.
As I look back over the years and think about how God has guided my steps and provided the way, I stand in awe. I praise God for the good times and the not so good times, because I can see now how He has used them all for good. (Rom. 8:28)
Choose Life Ministries praises God for you! We would not have been able to go had it not been for your prayers and support. Every life that is touched, every person who comes to know Christ, every baby whose mom chooses life, is because God is using us and He is using you to reach a world in need.
Thank you! Doug Cullen
