- Where is Choose Life Ministries’ home? When we surrendered to go to Bible College in 2001, we sold and gave away almost everything we owned. As of 2017, we are looking to settle in North Carolina and travel from a home there. The past 12 years of ministry we have tent camped, stayed at churches, parsonages and most recently, missionary houses. We have not had a home since renting in 2005.
- How does Choose Life Ministries determine where they speak? Prayer, prayer, and prayer. We pray about where God would have us go. Sometimes we end up at places we really do not want to go, but they are where God desires us to go.
- Why support Choose Life Ministries? We always say, “please do not support Doug and Joli.” Why? Because it is not about us. So why support Choose Life Ministries? What are we doing? We feel a passion for America and the church and we feel if change is going to happen it will not come through Washington DC, it will come through the local church being bold and standing on the truth of God’s Word. So God calls and we go, wherever He leads, knowing that He will supply all that we need. We thank God for all who stand with us in prayer and finances that we are able to go.
- What exactly is it that Choose Life Ministries is doing? We are building a culture of LIFE by sharing a Biblical worldview of LIFE (less than 8% of Christians read their Bibles on regular basis). We, as a nation, have lost our belief in the authority of God’s Word, and the fact that all life is created in the image of God (Gen 1:27). We feel the need to start with the church. Every time there was a great Spiritual movement or awakening, the church was unified, and the way we see it, after speaking in so many churches, is that today we are not unified on the issue of life. We need to get on board with the truth of God’s Word on life.
- How is Choose Life Ministries supported? We do not receive support from any one organization. We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), but we do not receive any support from them at all (except prayer support). We are full-time volunteers, and are a completely faith based ministry. Our support comes via love (free will) offerings and those who feel God is leading them to support us on regular basis. Through these provisions we have been across our nation three times, and have spoken in over 1100 churches in 34 states in twelve years. Praise the LORD!
- Where does Choose Life Ministries encounter most of their opposition? *Our number one opposition is to our belief that God spoke everything into existence in six literal twenty-four hour days. We believe Evolution to be one of the biggest lies Satan has implanted in many Christian’s lives today. The second opposition is to the fact that we as Christians need to vote, and need to vote LIFE! Too many Christians today believe that we as Christians should not get involved in social and political issues. That is a belief that must change, because how will there ever be a godly influence in our government if we continue this way of thinking? The third opposition is to life beginning at conception/circumstances of abortion. There are those in the church who, because they are not reading their Bibles, do not believe life begins at the very moment of conception. Because of that lie they believe that there are some circumstances in which abortion is ok. Exodus 20:13 states, “Thou shall not murder”. If we do a word study of “murder” it means frivolous taking of life. In other words, “any shedding of innocent blood”. I challenge any one to show me an instance of shedding of innocent blood more so than in abortion. We also want to point out Exodus 20:13 does not say, “Thou shall not murder except in the cases of rape or the imperfect baby”. In other words, the circumstances we find ourselves in do not change or determine the truth of God’s word. The truth is the truth regardless of our circumstances. The fourth most common opposition is the belief that some people groups are not created in the image of God. There are those who in their own ignorance believe that some people, based on their color, belief, language, or where they were born, determines their value. It is hard for me to accept that there are still some who believe that a Black person may have evolved or that they are not worth as much as someone else. Again Genesis 1:27 states that all human life is created in the image of GOD! Case closed!
- Does Choose Life Ministries speak only at Baptist churches? We speak primarily at Baptist churches, they are the easiest to get information about and to get into. But we feel the Sanctity of Human Life message goes across denominational lines. We have spoken at Baptist churches of all types, Catholic, Assemblies of God, Pentecostal, Presbyterian and Non-denominational Churches.

- How can you help Choose Life Ministries?
- Prayer ~ Become a prayer partner, our number one need is prayer. We face spiritually battles every day. We try to keep up-dated prayer requests on our web site, and through our monthly email updates which you can sign up for on our website.
- Financially ~we accept one time gifts and monthly gifts. We will soon be able to accept credit cards; we will up-date you when it becomes a possible. Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 812 Pineville, KY. 40977. Our mail is forwarded to us by ministry partner Ted Wilder every Monday. We are a 501 C-3 non-profit organization, so every person giving will receive a thank you which acts as a receipt and may be used for tax purposes. Other ways to help Choose Life Ministries: Gift cards – gas, food, Walmart, etc… (Food and gas are two of our biggest expenses.)
- Volunteers ~We always need help with our newsletter which we put out every three months. We now have over 1500 newsletters that we mail out every quarter, that is a lot of stuffing and labeling. We can always use help with our website to make it better and more effective.
- Contacts ~we are always seeking contacts for future dates.
- Join Us ~We have an awesome board of directors, but we are seeking more people to join us in the battle for LIFE and we are in need of those who are in the professional field to come along beside us. (Doctors, Lawyers, etc.)
- A real home for our home base, somewhere centrally located to help cover more of the nation.
