The subject that I am going to write about is one very near and dear to my heart; I can’t help but cry when I think about it. I was the third child that my parents had in a span of just three years, and no, I was not exactly planned. “You are pregnant again?” This was a common question for my mom when God was so delicately forming me in her womb. My parents could have easily said “two is enough”, but they did not. Unlike so many babies in America today, my mommy and daddy wanted me, and I can’t explain how thankful I am for that.

When I look at the city of Miami, near where I was born, it is so hard for me to see any good there.  Miami has more abortions than live births every single year.

The year I was born, there were  556,5OO abortions in the UnitedStates alone, and seventy-two thousand of those were done in Florida, approximately 20,000 in Miami.
It breaks my heart when I think about all the beautiful girls and talented boys that would be my age, living their lives. How many missionaries were aborted in that dark city, in 1991?  How many artists, doctors, or moms or dads? What if my best friend was aborted or my future husband? It tears me apart to think about whom we murdered, and who we killed for no reason. I get angry with the world, when I think about the baby who got aborted, who could have cured cancer, and saved my grandma from the pain that’s eating her life away. I get furious when I think about the one baby that was aborted that might have been the one to have led my great grandfather to the Lord, so that I would know without a doubt he is in heaven right now.

Just in Florida alone there were seventy-two thousand abortions in 1 99 1 , what about every other state? What about every other year? Has the church forgotten? I do not want to end this paper with a question, but I honestly do not know the answer to my own question. Have we forgotten? Or have we become blind to the sin of abortion that has scarred our nation before and after 1 991?
